On May 1, Cloudflare removed the tag of spyware from the Russian messenger Maks. According to the messenger's press service, the previously assigned labeling was erroneous and arose due to incorrect interpretation of request headers related to web analytics, and not as a result of analyzing the service's code.

"MAX regularly undergoes security audits, works with researchers through the Bug Bounty program, and has its own security center to protect users from real threats," the messenger's press service said.

They added that all the data of Max users is securely protected.

The day before, it became known that the users of "Max" began to appear tags about "spyware. Pavel Myasoedov, a cyber expert and CEO of IT Reserve, explained that the messenger's security level is not objectionable. The automatic tag about "spyware" set by Max is due to the fact that the messenger systems did not like the settings of these counters, which work according to the international standard for data exchange between sites — CORS.
