The decision on whether the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, will complete his term in office will be made by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was announced on May 1 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Putin will decide," Peskov told journalist Alexander Yunashev, answering the question whether Melikov would finish his term as head of Dagestan or whether the appointment of an acting head was planned.
