In Moscow, the legendary Tchaikovsky Grand Symphony Orchestra performed in front of the heroes of the Special Military Operation (SVO).
The Tchaikovsky Grand Symphony Orchestra conducted by Pavel Soldatikov performed in the column hall of the House of Unions. To achieve the perfect sound, matching tempo, breathing between notes and rhythm to the millisecond, the musicians honed the evening's program several dozen times.
"I wanted to say "thank you" with music. This is a thank you to all our brave heroes who defended and spent their lives, time, and efforts to preserve our traditions and cultural values," said Pavel Soldatikov, conductor and author of the Music That Saves project.
The concert was the first major charity event dedicated to active military personnel and veterans. The program featured works by Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky and Sviridov.
"These concerts are very important, very necessary, because when the guys who are on the front line know and hear that we support them, all this helps a person find harmony and balance even in difficult times," said Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Vadim Kolganov.
Roman Ledenev is one of those who fought for Donbass. The hero of a special military operation knows by himself what music is that saves.
"Those concerts that came to us, they inspired us, they gave us strength, it's without pathos and flattery. Music not only saves, it also helps, helps, and heals," the veteran of the special operation shared.
Honored Artist of Russia Oksana Fedorova emphasized that the organizers sought to give the military support through Russian music.
This concert opens a series of performances. The next one will be held in Donetsk, where they will once again prove that real music has no statute of limitations and it will always heal.
On April 28, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that Russia was proud of the bravery of its fighters who were in the firing line today. He also added that the Russian government will continue to do everything possible to create decent living conditions for military personnel after their return. In particular, we are talking about providing opportunities for their professional self-realization in peacetime.
