The experimental farm settlement of the central peat-marsh experimental station, whose name has 63 characters, is recognized as the longest among all geographical objects in Russia. This was reported on May 1 in the press service of Rosreestr, referring to data from the State Catalog of Geographical Names (operator — Roskadastr Publishing House).

"This locality in the Moscow region holds the absolute record for the length of its name among all geographical objects in Russia. His name reflects the history of the place, which was created as a central experimental base for the study and development of peat bogs," the ministry told TASS.

The Federal Register also noted that Kremenchug—Konstantinovskoye in Kabardino—Balkaria has the longest village name in Russia - 26 characters. At the same time, Verkhnenovokutlumbetevo in the Orenburg region became the record holder among villages in terms of the length of the combined spelling — 23 letters, sharing the first place with Starokozmodemyanovsky in the Tambov region, where there are also 23 letters.

Among the cities, Alexandrovsk—Sakhalinsky in the Sakhalin Region has the longest name length (25 characters).
