Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, as a sign of solidarity with the workers on the occasion of May 1, will spend the night as an assistant to a bakery delivery driver on the night shift. On May 1, the politician announced this in a press statement broadcast by the Slovak TV channel TA3.

"I agreed with the owner that after the safety briefing that I went through, I would come in for a minute to look at what we would be delivering, and then I would be an assistant to the freight forwarder driver. We will deliver the products that this bakery has prepared, we will have several stops," he said.

As Fico noted, he will work with the driver all night. The politician promised to take on all the physical work related to food delivery.

The bakery with which Fico cooperates is located in Banovce nad Bebravou in the west of the country.

On April 30, Fico confirmed his intention to arrive in Moscow to celebrate Victory Day, and also stated that he intends to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The politician pointed out that this decision was criticized by a number of his European colleagues. In this regard, he stressed that anyone can approach him and explain why he allegedly should cancel the trip.
