Long weekend started in Russia
The long weekend in Russia will last from May 1st to May 3rd. This was announced on May 1 by the Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Basic Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation "Human Resource Management" of the Russian University of Economics. "This year in May, we rest for 3 days from May 1 to May 3, since May 2 and 3 are considered days off during a five—day working week, and May 1 falls on a Friday," Ivanova-Shvets said in an interview with RIA Novosti journalists.
The publication notes that the next long weekend in Russia will be held from May 9 to 11 and will be timed to coincide with Victory Day.
On April 30, the regional departments of the State Traffic Inspectorate announced that, starting from the last day of April and the first May holidays, traffic police officers would conduct massive and continuous checks on the country's roads, with special attention being paid to finding drunk drivers. Raids on drunk motorists will take place in Tambov, Kostroma, Kurgan, Kirov, Ulyanovsk, Murmansk, Kursk regions, as well as in the Republic of Mari El, the Republic of Bashkortostan and other regions of the country.
