Fraudsters have started using a new deception scheme, in which they intimidate Russians by charging fines for hogweed on the site. This was reported on May 1 in the press service of the Moshelovka platform of the Popular Front.

"Scammers send messages to the owners of land plots (via messengers or SMS) on behalf of the "Land Supervision" or the administration. The notification says that pockets of dangerous weed have been found on the site," the organization told RIA Novosti.
