The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has banned its citizens from visiting Iran, Lebanon and Iraq amid the crisis in the Middle East. This was announced on April 30 by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Against the background of recent events in the region, the UAE Foreign Ministry informs that citizens of our country are now banned from all trips to Iran, Iraq and Lebanon. All UAE citizens staying in these countries are advised to return to their homeland as soon as possible," the official website of the Foreign Ministry says.

The publication also stated that the ministry urges UAE citizens in Iran, Lebanon and Iraq to contact it as part of the precautionary measures taken by the UAE to protect the well-being of its citizens. The Foreign Ministry did not inform about the reasons for the decision.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on its Telegram channel on April 29 that the UAE had begun confiscating the property of Iranian citizens living in the country. The statement notes that there are reports of the detention in the UAE of a group of Iranian citizens who were subsequently sent to prisons in the middle of the desert with difficult conditions.
