The priest described the divine service on Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity Day (Pentecost) is one of the most important Christian holidays and is perceived in the church tradition as the birthday of the Church. This was announced by Priest Ilya Savastyanov in an interview with Izvestia.
"On this Sunday, one of the main prayers begins to be read, "To the Heavenly King..", and special kneeling prayers are read on this day," he said.
The priest noted that the holiday has a special significance for Christians, as it symbolizes the beginning of church life after the event of Pentecost, when, according to legend, the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles, and the Trinity itself occupies a central place in the liturgical calendar.
Earlier, the head of the Youth Department of the Stavropol Diocese, Priest Alvian Tkhelidze, explained that the idea of "the most powerful prayer" on Good Friday does not correspond to the church tradition.
