Sales of new Moskvich cars decreased by a quarter in the quarter

Sales of new Moskvich cars in the first quarter of this year decreased by 25.6% year-on-year, amounting to 2,721 units. This was announced on April 30 by the analytical agency Autostat.

Almost 80% of the total sales of Moskvich accounted for the crossover with the index 3, it sold 2,165 copies. Another 7% was formed by the Moskvich 6 liftback (194 units), and 4% by the Moskvich 5 crossover (112 units), which it was decided not to launch mass production.

The remaining 9% went to the Moskvich 8 (87 units), the Moskvich 3e electric crossover (33 units), as well as two crossovers from the new M-line — the M70 and M90 (76 and 54 units, respectively).

According to analysts, about one third (32.8%) of new Moskvich cars sold in the first quarter were registered to legal entities. Accordingly, the remaining part (67.2%) was acquired by individuals.

Test drive of the Moskvich M70 and M90 crossovers

The fact that the assembly of electric scooters was launched at the Moskvich automobile plant became known on March 27. The pilot project was implemented jointly with Yandex and the Department of Transport of the capital. As part of the test phase, the company will produce 2,000 electric scooters.
