CEO Eksmo Evgeny Kapyev and the company's employees returned to work
Evgeny Kapyev, CEO of Eksmo Publishing House, and other company employees returned to work as usual. This was announced on April 30 by the press service of the publishing house.
"As a result of the investigative measures carried out, Evgeny Kapyev, General Director of Eksmo Publishing house, and the company's employees were released without summons. They have now returned to normal operation," the press service wrote on the Telegram channel.
It is noted that the publishing house is closely monitoring the development of the situation, and is also ready to provide the necessary assistance within the framework of legislation. They also thanked everyone who sent letters offering help.
Kapiev was detained on April 21 in connection with the LGBT propaganda case (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). In Moscow, law enforcement officers searched the management of the Eksmo-AST publishing group. A criminal case has been opened under Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of the activities of an extremist organization").
On April 23, the Investigative Committee (IC) released him on an obligation to appear after questioning the top managers of the publishing house. They were in witness status and were supposed to return on April 27.
Izvestia found out that the holding's management had developed a scheme to distribute books promoting LGBT among minors. We are talking about the novels "Summer in a Pioneer tie" and "What the Swallow is silent about" by Elena Prokasheva (pseudonym — Elena Malisova, recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) and Ekaterina Dudko (pseudonym — Katerina Silvanova, recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent). There are other works involved in the case.
