Four children were injured in a fire in an apartment building in the Dzhankoy district of Crimea. A criminal case has been opened into the incident.

The incident occurred on the night of April 29 in the village of Volnoye. An apartment on the first floor of a five-story building caught fire. The gorenje area was 5 sq.m. The residents were woken up by the triggered fire detectors. The neighbors rescued the tenants of the apartment, including carrying the baby out of the room.

According to the SevastopolMedia news agency, a woman and four children were hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning — a four-month-old girl, two and six-year-old girls, and a four-year-old boy. The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that the family had previously lost their home due to a fire and was now living in municipal housing.

The Prosecutor's Office is monitoring the progress of the criminal investigation.

A criminal case has been opened in the Lipetsk region over the deaths of a 90-year-old woman and her son in a fire in a private house. They were poisoned by carbon monoxide.
