More than 500 cases of tick bites were registered in the Irkutsk region
Since the beginning of the season, 504 cases of tick sucking have been registered in the Irkutsk region. Tick-borne encephalitis is suspected in one victim.
According to the IrkutskMedia news agency, the largest number of appeals was registered in Irkutsk, Shelekhovsky, Olkhonsky, Ehirit-Bulagatsky, Usolsky, Zalarinsky, Bokhansky, Slyudyansky, Ust-Udinsky, Bayandaevsky, Kuitunsky districts. Bites also occurred on the territory of Irkutsk.
The laboratory received 328 tick specimens that were removed from humans. 67 of them were carriers of borreliosis, one of them was carriers of tick—borne encephalitis.
Residents of the Angara region are advised to take protective measures when traveling to nature, including using acaricidal agents and wearing protective clothing.
In Primorsky Krai, almost 40% of ticks carry various infections. Pests are tested for viral encephalitis, ixodes tick-borne borreliosis, monocytic ehrlichiosis and human granulocytic anaplasmosis.
