- The sister of the deceased in Buryatia reported on his conversation with his mother before the emergency
Anna, a cousin of Alexei Titsky, a tunneler who died in an avalanche in Buryatia, said that the day before the emergency, the man contacted his mother. She told about it on April 30 in a conversation with Izvestia.
"The day before his death, he contacted his mother and told her that an avalanche had occurred the day before and two children had died. And his mother also told him, come on, you get out of there. He: "yes, everything will be fine, yes, everything is fine," said the cousin of the deceased.
Anna added that the mother of the deceased still cannot contact the investigating authorities to find out how and when her son's body will be sent to her. According to Titsky's sister, he did not complain about ensuring occupational safety at the mine, but informed relatives about accidents with other employees of the company a few days before the incident.
Earlier in the day, the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported on the detention of the director of a mine in Buryatia as part of a criminal case involving an avalanche of mining workers. The department noted that the issue of bringing charges and choosing a preventive measure for the person involved is currently being resolved.
On April 28, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that an avalanche had descended on the Irokinda mine in Buryatia, and six people were trapped under the rubble. Later, the names of those caught in the avalanche became known. The Ministry of Emergency Situations later reported that rescuers had found the bodies of all six victims of the avalanche.
