Rospotrebnadzor expert named the most dangerous tick infections
In Russia, tick-borne encephalitis remains the most dangerous infection transmitted through tick bites. On April 30, Olga Skudareva, head of the Department of Biological Safety and Sanitary Protection of the Territory of the Department of Epidemiological Welfare of the Population of Rospotrebnadzor, announced this at the press conference "Tick Season 2026: risks and recommendations for the population" at the Izvestia News Center.
According to the expert, the disease is characterized by high fever, severe intoxication, headache, weakness, fatigue and muscle pain.
Skudareva added that tick-borne borreliosis remains the second most common disease.
