Moscow expects that the agreements reached by it and Washington during the Russian-American summit in Anchorage on Ukraine will be implemented. This was announced on Thursday, April 30, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"We hope that the agreements reached in Alaska will be implemented," he said during his speech at a joint press conference with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev.

Lavrov, commenting on a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump the day before, added that the Russian side remains interested in negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine based on the understanding reached with the White House.

The US president called the telephone conversations with the Russian president good a day earlier. In turn, the Italian newspaper L'antidiplomatico saw in them a signal sent by the two leaders to both Kiev and the whole world. It was noted that in the conversation, Putin and Trump condemned the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, for prolonging the conflict.

As early as March 26, the Russian Foreign Minister pointed to the preservation of the "spirit of Anchorage" in the settlement process in Ukraine. According to him, Europe and NATO tried to prevent this.
