On April 30, US President Donald Trump posted a picture on the Truth Social network in which the Strait of Hormuz is called the "Trump Strait."

The picture showed a colorful map of the Persian and Oman Gulfs with tankers passing through the "Trump Strait".

On April 29, the American leader said that the United States does not plan to lift the naval blockade from Iran until the parties reach an agreement on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.

The Wall Street Journal reported on April 29 that Trump instructed his aides to prepare for a prolonged blockade of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz in order to financially exhaust Tehran, as the head of the White House considers the resumption of bombing a risky option.

CNN noted on April 27 that the United States and Iran continue to conduct behind-the-scenes negotiations on a peaceful settlement, the first stage of which may be an agreement to return to the pre-war status quo and resume free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
