The mandatory oral history exam for 9th grade graduates will come into force no earlier than 2028 and is scheduled to be held in February. This was announced by the head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev.

"I want to reassure you right away: if any changes are coming, then we warn you two years in advance, not a year in advance. The oral history part will not be next year, not for graduates of the 9th grades next year, but for graduates of 2028 (2027/2028 years of study). We plan that this will also take place in February, since the subject of history has switched to a single line of textbooks, and educational programs have been approved for all schools, it cannot be that certain topics will not be covered in February," Muzaev told TASS.

He also stressed that the departments do not plan to make the new exam format excessively difficult in order to avoid rejection from students, noting the importance of forming interest in the subject of "history". According to him, there will be no "super-complicated questions" in the oral part, and the exam itself should promote respect for discipline.

Muzaev added that the technology of conducting the oral exam has already been worked out using the example of an oral interview in Russian, which is used as admission to exams in grades 9.

Muzaev said on April 20 that citizens who passed the Unified State Exam (USE) are now between the ages of 30 and 40 and form the basis of the Russian economy. He noted that the assessments of the so-called "USE generation" are subjective. According to him, many of them have already reached adulthood and are working in various industries.
