Dmitriev called Starmer's mistakes the reason for empty store shelves in the UK
The managerial mistakes of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in the energy sector have led to a situation where residents of the kingdom are forced to face empty shelves in stores amid the energy crisis. This was announced on April 30 by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, on the social network X.
He noted that the next energy shock in the UK is expected in two weeks.
"The Independent warns of empty supermarket shelves in the UK — just at the moment when the energy crisis is looming exactly on schedule, and the next shock in the UK is expected in two weeks. Starmer's wrong decisions in the energy sector have led to empty shelves," Dmitriev said.
The newspaper El Pais reported on April 15 that the European Commission is studying a number of measures to mitigate the consequences of the energy crisis caused by the situation around Iran. The conflict started by the United States and Israel has already cost the Europeans more than €22 billion in additional costs for importing fossil fuels, the newspaper notes.
On April 19, Dmitriev pointed out the inability of EU officials to assess the scale of the energy crisis. On April 29, he also compared the EU's fight against the energy crisis to a karate self-knockout
