- The court seized the property of ex-Deputy Minister of Transport Semenov and his relatives in the income of the Russian Federation
On April 29, the Nikulinsky Court of Moscow seized the property of former Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Alexei Semenov, his relatives and related persons.
According to a source in Izvestia, the total amount of property listed in the lawsuit is estimated at 6 billion rubles. Also, according to him, Semenov designed apartments, non-residential premises, cars, parking spaces and even a yacht for his father, son and ex-wife.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, during the supervisory measures, the prosecutor's office found that Semenov, together with the former heads of FSUE "Zashchitainfotrans" Vyacheslav Smirnov, Yuri Spassky and Viktor Parakhin, organized a corrupt scheme for using budget funds.
Ignoring the ban on entrepreneurial activity established by anti-corruption legislation, they set up their own business in the field of information technology, registering it with close relatives and controlled persons. In conditions of a conflict of interests, these persons formed its material base by filling it with money from government orders.
In addition, with unconfirmed income, they built country houses, purchased apartments, apartments and other real estate in Russia and France, as well as premium cars, a yacht, securities, expensive watches and jewelry, some of which were registered to affiliated companies.
On April 7, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit with the court to turn Semenov's property into state revenue. It is noted that the ex-official and people associated with him, despite the current anti-corruption bans, acquired property that did not correspond to their official income. These assets were purchased in connection with the IT business they organized.
