Senior Sergeant Nikolai Vasilyev destroyed an observation drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which was trying to conduct covert surveillance of the positions of Russian fighters. This was reported on April 30 in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that Vasiliev was at an observation post and monitored the airspace. In the sky, he noticed an unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which was monitoring the positions of military personnel. After contacting the control center, he made sure that the drone was not Russian, after which he hit the target with small arms.

As a result, the Ukrainian drone was successfully shot down, after which it crashed at a distance from the locations of personnel and equipment. The vigilance of the senior sergeant helped to prevent the Russian positions from being attacked from the air and to avoid casualties among the personnel.

The Ministry of Defense also said that Corporal Denis Gryaznov, as part of the reconnaissance UAV crew, was able to detect the control and launch point of enemy attack drones during reconnaissance. After that, he passed the information to the higher command. Based on the data received, it was decided to launch an artillery strike on the Ukrainian positions. As a result of the precise defeat, the control point of the enemy's UAV was destroyed.
