Dozens of roads and bridges to temples and monasteries will be repaired in the Moscow region.

In 2026, 13 bridges and hundreds of kilometers of roads leading to monasteries, churches, temples, cathedrals and chapels are planned to be repaired in the Moscow Region. The regional Ministry of Transport announced this on April 29.

"Road workers will carry out a large amount of work on the regional network and repair a number of roads and bridges that serve as entrances to holy sites in the Moscow region, which will ensure comfortable and safe travel for residents and guests of the region," said Marat Sibatulin, Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure.

Ongoing repairs will be carried out on 61 sections of the regional road network, of which 23 roads are part of the regional backbone network. The total length of the repaired sections will be 295 km.

Major repairs are planned for sections of four roads with a total length of 6.7 km. So, road workers will put in order 400 m of Nagornaya Street in Losino-Petrovsky, where the Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is located, and will also complete work on Ilyich Avenue in Shatura (where the church of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Shatura is located) and two objects at once in the Krasnogorsk city circle: a section of Institutskaya Street in Nakhabin (where the temple in honor of the icon is located). Mother of God Vsetsarina) and the road between Saburovo and Yurlovo (the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is located in Saburovo).

In addition, it is planned to repair 13 bridge structures in Yegoryevsk, Zaraysk, Kolomna, Pushkinsky, Serpukhov, Chekhov, Shchelkov. As an example, the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya cites the bridge over the Osetrik River in Zaraysk, which provides access to the Zaraisk Kremlin, and the bridge over the Klyazma in Shchelkovo to the Trinity Cathedral.

In total, more than 150 road sections are planned to be repaired on the regional network of the Moscow Region in 2026. Major repairs will take place on 30 bridges and 14 roads.
