The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is negotiating the establishment of a sixth truce to carry out repairs to the power supply of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). This was announced on April 29 by the director of the agency, Rafael Grossi, at a press conference at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN).

"We are negotiating a sixth truce. We have already managed to achieve five, and the sixth is now needed to carry out some vital repairs on external power transmission lines," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

He noted that the power supply of a nuclear power plant depends on external power lines. Grossi added that carrying out repairs is the main goal of the IAEA at the moment. He expressed confidence that the experts would be able to achieve a good result.

Alexey Likhachev, head of the Rosatom state Corporation, said on April 24 that the number of strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is increasing in the area of the nuclear power plant, the purpose of which is to sow panic and disorientation of personnel. He noted that over the past week, the satellite city of the Energodar station has repeatedly been left without electricity and water supply.

The mayor of Energodar, Maxim Pukhov, announced on April 22 that the water supply system in the satellite city of the Zaporizhia NPP was de-energized due to an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
