Endocrinologist and nutritionist Anton Polyakov warned about the dangers of eating sausages in dough and whites due to the risk of developing cancer.
In conversation with aif.ru On Wednesday, April 29, the specialist noted that sausages and other similar semi-finished products are not considered useful products and may increase the risk of developing cancer. According to him, the World Health Organization (WHO) considers such products as potentially carcinogenic: they contain little high-grade protein, but a lot of fats and food additives, which is why they are a "calorie bomb" with low nutritional value.
He also recalled that in 2015, processed meat was classified by WHO as a carcinogen of the first group, along with tobacco and asbestos. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, regular consumption of such products increases the risk of colorectal cancer by about 18%, and frying in oil further increases the harm due to the formation of carcinogens.
The expert stressed that even the rare use of such products does not go unnoticed, and with regular inclusion in the diet can pose a serious threat to health.
