- Semenyuk, a member of the "werewolves in uniform" gang, was sentenced to 15 years in a penal colony.
A Yekaterinburg court has sentenced Vladimir Semenyuk, an ex-employee of the Department of Internal Affairs, to nine years in a high—security penal colony. He was found guilty of murdering five people he killed as part of a gang. This was reported to Izvestia in court on April 29.
Combined with the 2005 verdict, the final sentence was 15 years in prison. We are talking about the massacres committed more than 25 years ago.
The investigation believes that in 1999-2000, Semenyuk was a member of the werewolves in uniform organized criminal group, which kept the whole of Yekaterinburg in fear and remained unpunished for a long time. The association consisted of five people, three of whom at that time held operational positions in the police. The organized crime group tried to take over drug trafficking and took orders for the murder of merchants.
According to investigators, on June 8, 2000, an armed Semenyuk and his accomplices arrived at the thermal chamber in Yekaterinburg, where three people were staying. One of them tried to escape — then Semenyuk shot him at least eight times, and his accomplices shot the eyewitnesses.
In October 2000, while executing an order to kill a businessman, Semenyuk and an accomplice ambushed the victim at the trash cans. When the man ran away, Semenyuk shot him in the chest and head, and his accomplice opened fire with a rifle.
A month later, the organized criminal group found out about the arrival of a businessman with an amount of several hundred thousand rubles and staged a robbery after refusing to give the money. The man was shot, and his companion was shot in the head, after which one of the members of the organized criminal group finished them off with a tire iron.
Semenyuk was detained in 2024, he entered into a pre-trial agreement and exposed his accomplices. In September 2025, Vladislav Sobol, the leader of the gang of "werewolves in uniform," the former head of the OBNON of the Kirov District Police Department of Yekaterinburg, was sentenced to 16 years in a high-security penal colony. His accomplices Konstantin Kotik and Oleg Anuchin were sentenced to 8 and 9.5 years in prison, respectively.
In Krasnodar, on December 26, 2025, Igor Nekhaenko, a former police officer and former head of the criminal investigation Department of the Anapa Department of Internal Affairs, was sentenced to 20 years in a high-security penal colony, ordered to pay a fine of 800 thousand rubles and stripped of the special rank of "police lieutenant colonel." He was found guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code, including participation in a gang, murder and possession of weapons.
So, in 2004, Nekhaenko carried out an armed attack on the director of Goods for Children LLC and killed him. In 2013, a criminal, acting as part of a gang, attacked the deputy ataman of the Anapa city Cossack Society, injuring him with a gunshot wound and killing his driver.
