The extension of martial law and mobilization in Ukraine suggests that the country's president, Vladimir Zelensky, does not want to make peace with Russia. This was announced on April 29 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"Zelensky does not want peace, this is obvious. <...> To do this, he has again extended martial law in Ukraine, this time until August 2, and is conducting a violent, well, which has already become, in fact, not a mobilization, but a "grave" of Ukrainian citizens," she said.

Zakharova added that the Ukrainian leader is seeking an "endless prolongation" of the conflict in Ukraine. According to her, he is also ready to risk a dangerous escalation of the crisis in order to obtain nuclear weapons for Kiev.

The day before, general mobilization and martial law were extended in Ukraine for the 19th time. Prior to that, on April 25, Ukrainian journalist Yulia Zaberina said that in her country they could abolish the concept of the so-called full armor from mobilization. According to her, if the initiative is implemented, absolutely all previously "booked" people who are not involved in the field of defense will go to the army.
