The final assessment of the wheat harvest in Russia will depend on weather conditions in early May. He told about it on April 29 in the press center of the Izvestia News Center at the round table "Abnormal cold: how will the spring frosts affect the future harvest?" Anatoly Tikhonov, Director of the International Center for Agribusiness and Food Security at the RANEPA Graduate School of Corporate Governance.

"Everyone is waiting for the beginning of May to understand what the losses will be, what the situation will be," he said.

He noted that according to forecasts from the Russian Hydrometeorological Service, frosts are expected again at the end of April, both in the air and on the soil, which may further complicate the situation of farmers. According to the expert, the development of the weather situation in the coming weeks will be a key factor for the final harvest and export opportunities of the country.
