Sobyanin spoke about the relevance of the "School of Kinship Care" project
Over the past four years, more than 7 thousand people have participated in the capital's School of Kinship Care project. They were trained in helping loved ones who need constant care, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in the Maks messenger.
He also noted that in 2023, a Simulation Center was established on the basis of the Scientific and Practical Gerontopsychiatric Center. They teach professional care skills for people with limited mobility and the elderly. Last year, more than 12,000 people were trained — social workers and residents of the capital.
In addition, the Guryevsky Assisted Living center has been operating in Moscow since 2021, where young people with mental disabilities undergo an adaptation program and gain the necessary skills for independent living. Currently, over 150 people live in the center, most of them are employed.
In total, there are 14 social homes and two gerontopsychiatric centers in the capital for people with cognitive impairments.
