The United Russia Party has extended the deadline for registration to participate in the preliminary voting for the selection of candidates for the State Duma elections until May 14. This was reported on the party's website on April 29.

"We decided to extend the deadline and give more people the opportunity to try their hand at politics and become part of the United Russia team," said Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the United Russia General Council.
