The stylist talked about the main color trends of summer 2026
The summer of 2026 is changing the usual ideas about color combinations, offering more complex and expressive solutions in clothing. Anna Skorokhodova, stylist, accessories designer and founder of the by SKOROKHODOVA brand, told Izvestia about this on April 29.
"The main trend of the season is non-standard color combinations that make the image visually more expensive and "intelligent". Among the relevant combinations are creamy yellow with cold gray, sky blue with chocolate, lime with milk, as well as powdery pink with hints of khaki and olive," the expert said.
According to the stylist, special attention is paid to colors that visually make the image more "expensive". These include milk, cream, caramel, sand, graphite, deep blue, terracotta and olive. These shades create a sense of restraint, status, and thoughtfulness, and work better on the impression than bright or acidic colors.
The expert emphasized that bright shades do not always guarantee a stylish result. Without taking into account appearance, color type and general style, they can overload the image and violate its integrity. The color, she says, should emphasize individuality.
"Fabric texture also plays an important role in color perception. The same shade can look different depending on the material: linen gives naturalness and nobility, cotton gives structure and freshness, silk gives depth and luxury, and satin enhances color saturation. Using the example of sky blue, the stylist notes that it looks much more expensive on natural fabrics than on synthetic ones," Skorokhodova said.
Speaking about the basic summer wardrobe, the expert recommended including versatile items: a light-colored linen suit, a loose white shirt, basic tops in natural shades, midi or maxi dresses, medium-length skirts, laconic sandals and a structured bag in a neutral color. Such elements can be easily combined with each other and allow you to create both everyday and more collected urban images.
According to the expert, a modern wardrobe is no longer about the number of things, but about a well—thought-out strategy in which every detail works for style and individuality.
Skorokhodova said on March 26 that structured silhouettes with an emphasis on the waist are returning to fashion in Russia. According to the expert, the transition to an accentuated waistline was a reaction to the long-term dominance of the oversized free style. The new trend reflects the desire for a balanced appearance that combines aesthetics and convenience without the extremes of previous years.
