The sowing campaign has started in the Khabarovsk Territory
Spring field work began in the Khabarovsk Territory. Local farmers have already sowed 465 hectares of farmland in the Khabarovsk region and the Lazo region with oats, wheat and barley, as well as annual and perennial grasses.
The regional Ministry of Agriculture told IA AmurMedia that seeds and mineral fertilizers had been purchased by the beginning of the season. More than 1 thousand units of agricultural machinery will be involved in the work.
According to Alexander Sukhoruchko, head of the Department for the development of agriculture and breeding, nature has made its own adjustments, and therefore this year farmers had to go to the fields a little later than usual. Weather permitting, planting will begin this weekend in the Vyazemsky district and in the Bikinsky district. Potatoes and vegetables will be planted in May.
This year, the area under cultivation in the region will exceed 63 thousand hectares. It is planned to sow the land with grain and fodder crops, as well as vegetables, potatoes and soybeans.
Earlier it was reported that in the Khabarovsk Territory in 2026, farmers will be compensated for land reclamation costs. This will be done at the expense of the regional budget. The selection of projects for government support is currently being completed.
