Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) expects to increase car sales in the second half of this year. This was announced on April 29 by a source of Izvestia at the enterprise.

"According to the business plan, in the first six months of this year, the bulk of the products produced are aimed at corporate clients, including law enforcement agencies. Sales of cars sold through the dealer network are expected to increase from the second half of 2026, including in the light of the appearance of updated versions of the UAZ Patriot, Pickup and Profi models," the source said.

UAZ recalled that restyled cars should appear in dealerships in early autumn. In addition to the redesigned design, upgraded interior and airbags, the SUV, pickup truck and light truck will receive a two-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 136 hp of domestic production.

A new six-speed manual transmission, also available in Russia, will be combined with the new engine. It will also be installed on cars with a 150 hp ZMZ Pro gasoline engine with a volume of 2.7 liters. In addition, all-wheel drive versions of cars will receive a new electromechanical transfer case.

As reported the day before, 3,403 new UAZ vehicles were sold in Russia in January –March 2026, which is 31% less than in the same period last year. The largest sales volume in the first quarter was accounted for by the SGR family of commercial vehicles (popularly known as the "Loaf").
