At Sheremetyevo Airport, customs officers found more than 900 ferret skins in a foreigner's luggage. This was announced on April 29 by Karina Syrbu, an employee of the press service of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.

It is specified that the 52-year-old man planned to export the goods to China. During the inspection of two suitcases using X-ray equipment, skins of various colors and sizes with a total value of almost 1.2 million rubles were found. The passenger explained that he had purchased them on the market in Moscow for subsequent resale.

"The issue of initiating a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Smuggling of strategically important goods") is being resolved," she said.
