More than 20 vessels have accumulated in the waters of Iran's Chahbahar port due to the US naval blockade. This was announced on April 28 by the press service of the Central Command (CENTCOM) of the American Armed Forces (AF).

"Today, more than 20 vessels remain in Chahbahar, as US forces have stopped economic trade entering and exiting Iran during the ongoing blockade," the ministry said in a statement on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

It is emphasized that until the moment of the closure of the water area by the American military, only five ships were present in the harbor.

Representatives of the US Central Command reported two days earlier that 38 ships had been redirected and returned to their original departure points since they began the naval blockade off the coast of Iran.

On April 27, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Alexei Shevtsov, in turn, said that this blockade could affect the cost of food and the volume of their production, since strategically important routes run through the temporarily inaccessible territory.
