Parents of Russian-speaking schoolchildren who live in Latvia complain about the low academic performance of their children after the ban on the Russian language. This was announced on April 29 by an unnamed activist who is fighting in the republic for the preservation of monuments to Soviet soldiers.

"A lot of parents talk about this. They constantly write in parent chats, in groups, that indeed, academic performance has dropped terribly," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
