Russia has launched a project to preserve memory with the help of land from the battlefields

In Russia, the Committee of Families of Soldiers of the Fatherland is launching a project to preserve memory with the help of land brought from the battlefields of a special military operation (SVO). This was announced on April 29 by the head of the committee, Yulia Belekhova.

"The project that we are starting to implement on May 7 is also very important, it was not easy for us. We will start from Karelia, where we brought 122-mm and 155-mm earth in casings from seven subjects of the Russian Federation: Kherson, Zaporizhia regions, LNR [Lugansk People's Republic], DNR [Donetsk People's Republic], Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod," Belekhova explained in an interview with TASS.

It is noted that the brought earth will be poured into one place, next to which the shell casings will be buried.

This project is aimed at preserving and honoring the memory of all the participants of the SVR, who returned and went missing, the dead and the survivors.

According to Belekhova, military personnel, clergy, committee headquarters, volunteer organizations and regional administrations helped collect the land for the project.
