The attempts of the European Union (EU) to cope with the energy crisis can be compared to the owner of a black belt in karate, who knocks himself out by hitting his head on the planks. On April 28, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), special representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, posted such a message on the social network X.

He attached a video to the post in which a man in a karate uniform with a black belt hits his head on the boards, as a result of which he knocks himself out and falls down.

"Look to the end to understand how the EU is dealing with the energy crisis," Dmitriev wrote.

On April 19, Dmitriev pointed out the inability of EU officials to assess the scale of the energy crisis.

The newspaper El Pais reported on April 15 that the European Commission is studying a number of measures to mitigate the consequences of the energy crisis caused by the conflict over Iran. The conflict started by the United States and Israel has already cost the Europeans more than €22 billion in additional costs for importing fossil fuels, the newspaper notes.
