Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on April 29-30, during which he is scheduled to meet with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev. This became known on April 29.

Lavrov's last visit to Kazakhstan took place in April last year, when he participated in a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS Ministerial Council), RIA Novosti reports.

During that trip, he spent a "reconciliation of hours" with the then Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu.

It is noted that key attention at the talks will be paid to the development of the Russian-Kazakh comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, including in the context of upcoming high-level contacts.

The parties are expected to discuss expanding cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). In addition, the ministers plan to exchange views on topical regional and international issues.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 22 that the suspension of oil supplies from Kazakhstan to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline was due to technical reasons. According to him, the situation is due to working issues, while the interests of the Kazakh side will be ensured through alternative supply routes.
