Senior sailor Rastegaev suppressed the AFU firing point with a grenade throw
Senior sailor Sergei Rastegaev, who was acting as part of the assault group, took part in an operation to identify weaknesses in the enemy's defenses and then capture defensive fortifications. The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on Wednesday, April 29.
It is noted that under the constant threat of unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery strikes, Russian attack aircraft were able to covertly enter enemy positions and position themselves close to them. The terrain, which masked their movement, helped the fighters in this. After that, Rastegaev was the first to overcome the section of the minefield of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and quietly went out to the trenches for a subsequent flank bypass.
Since it was necessary to act decisively and without delay, the soldier suppressed the firing point with a grenade throw, after which he broke into the fortification. His actions led to a weakening of the enemy's defenses, which allowed the rest of the stormtroopers to overwhelm the remaining enemy forces and gain a foothold in their new position.
According to the results of the operation, the Russian Defense Ministry concluded that it was Rastegaev's personal courage and his ability to make decisions in a critical situation that ensured the success of the entire assault group.
It is also reported that Junior Sergeant Gennady Pyatkov helped the Guards to provide ammunition and provisions to the positions of the howitzer artillery battalion, which performs combat missions in one of the important tactical areas. The soldier acted as an electrical driver for the howitzer artillery division's control platoon as part of a rigging group.
During the operation, his car became the target of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) several times. However, Pyatkov kept his cool even under the blows and continued to drive the transport. Electronic warfare (EW) devices played a special role in the destruction of enemy drones.
The Ministry of Defense also reported a day earlier that sailor Alexander Suvorov discovered and destroyed an unmanned enemy boat during the task of monitoring the coastline. The object was hit by a barrage of ammunition. As a result of Suvorov's professional actions, it was possible to prevent the enemy from breaking through in the area of one of the terrain sites.
