The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Kurenkov arrived at the place of extinguishing the fire at the refinery in Tuapse

The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, arrived at an oil refinery in Tuapse, where a fire broke out after the wreckage of Ukrainian drones (UAVs) fell. This was announced on April 28 by the press service of the department.

It is noted that rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of the attack. The Ministry of Emergency Situations called the fire difficult. Kurenkov gave instructions on the further actions of rescuers in extinguishing the fire.

On the same day, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations decided to increase the group of divers in the Tuapse area to inspect the Black Sea for oil spills after a fire at an oil storage facility. The Minister and the task force also flew around the Black Sea area near the city by helicopter.

The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported on April 28 that a fire started at the Tuapse oil refinery due to falling drone debris. 122 people and 39 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. Residents of nearby houses began to be evacuated. A regional emergency regime has been introduced in Tuapse.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Kurenkov had reported to Putin about new fires in Tuapse after the Ukrainian drone strikes. Later it became known that Kurenkov flew to the Krasnodar Territory for personal control of fire extinguishing work.
