More than 220 thousand seedlings of Peking cabbage varieties "Tabaluga" and "Natsuki" were planted in the fields of Sevastopol. The planting area has exceeded 2 hectares, the press service of the regional government reports.

The harvest is planned to be harvested in 50-70 days, said Nikita Zabiyaka, the owner of the farm, an entrepreneur. The expected volume of collected products will range from 180 to 220 tons.

A drip irrigation system is used on the farm to ensure optimal growth conditions and moisture retention. In the near future, the equipment will be supplemented with the installation of overhead irrigation.

In autumn, farmers plan to switch to direct sowing on an area of about 5 hectares. This will significantly increase production and ensure continuity of supplies to retail chains.

As noted by IA SevastopolMedia, the development of the farm became possible thanks to the Agrostartap grant. In 2024, the company received 3.8 million rubles. The money went to a mini salad planter and a combine harvester for harvesting leafy vegetables.

In 2025, farmers harvested 84 tons of cabbage, which arrived on the shelves of Sevastopol, Crimea, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Orenburg. Arugula, spinach, chard and Iceberg lettuce are also grown on the farm.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that in Russia, the timing of the sowing of spring crops — barley, peas, wheat - may be shifted by three weeks. This creates risks for crop reduction, and farmers will be forced to abandon the sowing of some crops.
