Washington expresses its gratitude to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko for the cooperation between the two countries. This was announced on April 28 by the US President's special envoy for Belarus, John Cole.

Trump's special envoy said that he and his team assisted in the release of three Polish citizens and two Moldovans. Cole noted the personal contribution of U.S. President Trump, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Eastern European Affairs and Regional Policy Christopher Smith and his staff at the State Department to the exchange.

Under President Trump, the United States has been helping its allies achieve diplomatic victories, Cole concluded.
