Kaliningrad Avtotor plant has started the installation of a new welding line for the production of Jetour T1 and T2 crossovers using a full technological cycle with welding and painting. The company's press service announced this on April 28.

In April of this year, the company's specialists started installing a new section of the robotic welding line. This is the next stage of work aimed at increasing the level of robotics and the efficiency of production processes.

Production of Jetour cars at Avtotor is carried out under an agreement between the companies, effective from April 2024. It provides for a phased increase in production volume, expansion of the model range and creation of capacities for the production of Chinese brand products in a full technological cycle.

In 2025, a new upgraded welding line was installed and put into operation at the enterprise. A complex of works has been carried out to equip full-cycle production facilities, and the production of Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus crossover models, as well as Soueast S06 and S07 with welding and body painting, has been mastered.

"The deepening of production technology allows us to ensure a high level of quality and increase the level of localization, which helps to increase the competitiveness of products on the Russian market. <...> The project will create additional production facilities for the local production of Jetour and Soueast brands and provide new jobs," Avtotor noted.

On April 10, Denis Pak, President of Avtotor, said that Avtotor's longest-lasting partnerships to date are with Jetour, BAIC, and SWM brands. The company is also developing a promising project for the production of Changan cars and is preparing for the production of Tank 300 SUVs.
