The meeting between King Charles III of Great Britain and US President Donald Trump at the White House will be held without cameras due to London's fears of possible diplomatic incidents and the risk of humiliating the monarch. This was reported on April 27 by The Guardian newspaper.

"British officials insisted that the monarch's meeting with the US president in the Oval Office be held without cameras, fearing a repeat of the situation when Trump chastised Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in front of the world press," the article says.

According to the newspaper, the ministers have high hopes for the state visit, assuming that it will help improve relations between the two countries during a difficult period.

The publication clarifies that Charles III will pose for the cameras at the beginning of the bilateral meeting, but he will not be filmed discussing any key issues.

Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, landed in Maryland a day earlier as part of a four-day trip to the United States. The visit comes amid tensions in US-British relations over the war in Iran. Trump is known to sharply criticize British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's refusal to provide military assistance to the United States.
