On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Kurenkov had reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin about new fires in Tuapse after strikes by Ukrainian drones (UAVs). He also stated that Ukraine, by attacking the Tuapse oil refinery, increases the shortage of oil on world markets and destabilizes them.
The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported on April 28 that a fire started at the Tuapse refinery due to falling drone debris. 122 people and 39 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. Residents of nearby houses began to be evacuated. Peskov said that rescuers are taking all measures to eliminate the consequences.
