Denis Stanislavovich Glushchenko and Alexander Vyacheslavovich Malyshev were sentenced to 26 years in a penal colony for participating in a missile and bomb attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russian servicemen. This was announced on April 28 by the court's press service.
According to the prosecution, in 2022 in Melitopol, the defendants established contact with representatives of the main intelligence directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and transmitted information to the enemy about buildings and structures where military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and law enforcement officers were stationed, RIA Novosti clarifies.
As a result of the information gathered, Ukrainian militants launched a rocket and bomb attack on the locations of the units of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Zaporizhia region and the Rosgvardiya Directorate for the region. The buildings were completely destroyed or partially damaged. In October 2023, the spies were detained. Both received 26 years in a high-security penal colony with the first five years in prison.
On April 22, the Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnodar Territory announced the verdict in the treason case against a resident of Volgodonsk who collected information for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On the Ukrainian side, he transmitted data on fuel and energy complex facilities located in Krasnodar. The man was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison to be served in a high-security penal colony, with subsequent restriction of liberty for another year.
