An unidentified gunman injured five people in Athens in two unrelated attacks. This was reported on April 28 by the Reuters news agency, citing local law enforcement officials.
"Five people were injured in two separate shootings in Athens, committed by an elderly armed man," the publication says.
According to police, the suspect, an 89-year-old man, opened fire with a shotgun at a branch of the Greek social security agency, wounding an employee in the leg. Then an armed man took a taxi to the courthouse, where he fired several shots, lightly wounding four female employees of the court.
Local media reported that the suspect may be a garbage collector who worked in the suburbs of Athens. He is still at large.
NBC News reported on April 23 that unidentified people opened fire in a shopping mall in the US state of Louisiana, injuring 10 people. It was noted that the incident occurred near the food court at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge.
