Another criminal case was initiated on the fact of an avalanche on employees of the Irokinda mine located in Buryatia. This was reported on Tuesday, April 24, on the website of the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the republic.

"A criminal case has been opened into an avalanche attack on mining company employees on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of safety rules during construction and other work that negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons")," the text says.

The specialists who found themselves under the snow masses initially arrived there in order to clear the consequences of an avalanche recorded on April 24 that covered a group of tourists. Thus, according to preliminary data, six more people were trapped under the snow as a result of the incident recorded today.

Currently, representatives of the investigative task force are involved at the scene of the tragedy, who are carrying out a set of measures there aimed at establishing all the details of what happened.

Upon the fact of the first avalanche in Buryatia, a criminal case was opened in accordance with Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers"). Rescuers found four tourists from a group trapped in an avalanche in Buryatia— three of them were injured. Three people were also killed, according to official data. One of the surviving climbers named Konstantin, in a conversation with Izvestia the next day, stated that the ascent of Mount Munku-Sardyk was not carried out as part of a training camp by a group of amateurs.

Some time later, on April 28, another gathering was recorded — already at the Irokinda spring. The Russian Emergencies Ministry said that a total of nine people were trapped, three of whom managed to free themselves on their own. The agency involved the Mi-8 aircraft in the rescue of the remaining ones.

The Izvestia source named the names of all those trapped under the precipitation and in the disaster area. So, they turned out to be the tunnellers Anton Sh., Alexey T. and Vladimir K. and Bayar Ts. and Erdyn Ts. and student Ayur J. accordingly. After a while, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the region told about the extraction of the body of one deceased as a result of the incident.
