Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico may arrive in Moscow on Victory Day by car due to the refusal of the Baltic states to allow his plane to fly. This was reported on April 28 by TVN, citing a source in Polish diplomatic circles.

"Fico's trip to Moscow by car is being considered very seriously and is quite likely. Unless the Prime Minister of Slovakia manages to find an alternative flight route, but the leaders of the European Union countries are not enthusiastic about such a visit," the source said.

It is indicated that this way Bratislava will not have to request permission from other European countries through which the Fico delegation will travel to Russia, the newspaper notes.

On April 18, Latvia and Lithuania denied a Fico aircraft a potential flight to Russia over their territories, and Estonia joined them the next day. Lubos Blaga, a member of the European Parliament from Slovakia, noted on April 25 that the decision of the Baltic authorities to ban the Fico flight was an act of hostility. He added that the restrictions would not disrupt the prime minister's visit to Russia.: Fico will use an alternative route, as it did a year earlier.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said on April 27 that there was no longer a problem with Fico aircraft flying over Polish territory. At the same time, Sikorsky did not specify which specific route the Slovak politician would follow to the capital of the Russian Federation.
