The schedule of lighting torches of Rostral columns on Victory Day is published

A number of events will be held in St. Petersburg to mark the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Traditionally, torches will be lit on Rostral columns in honor of Victory Day in the Northern Capital. In addition, thematic projections will appear on the facades of buildings and bridges. The St. Petersburg Committee for Energy and Engineering told Izvestia about how the city will be decorated and at what time the columns will be lit.

The Committee on Energy and Engineering shared with Izvestia the details of the design of the Northern Capital for the memorable date and the events planned by it.

So, from May 8 to May 12, thematic light projections will appear on the facades of buildings, which can be seen at houses No. 44 on Shpalernaya Street, No. 26-28 on Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt, No. 85A on the 8th line and No. 70 on Bolshoy Prospekt Vasilyevsky Island, No. 14 on Kondratievsky Prospekt, No. on Moskovsky Prospekt, No. 89 on the embankment of the Obvodny Canal, No. 10 on Novgorodsky Prospekt in Shushary, and also in Lomonosov on Fedyuninsky Street at No. 89.

Lighting of torches of Rostral columns on Victory Day

Rostral columns traditionally become a special symbol of Victory Day in St. Petersburg. The press service of the committee reported that the torches on the spit of Vasilyevsky Island will be lit twice.

The first lighting will take place on the morning of May 9th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The columns will light up with fire for the second time in the evening, from 19:00 to 23:00.
